Gameware Europe recently facilitated a RAGE – ‘Realising an Applied Gaming Eco-system’ presentation by Dr. Li Yuan, Senior Researcher at University of Bolton at the July 3rd REACTOR meetup. The express intention here was to explore RAGE business models and to discuss the possibilities and issues around developing and sustaining the RAGE Eco-system with an applied gaming audience.

REACTOR is a Cambridge, UK regional development project led by Anglia Ruskin University and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and is tasked with building the local applied gaming community:

The RAGE project has been running interviews and consultation meetings with academics and developers in the applied game sector across Europe. A key RAGE deliverable is to help businesses in all sectors find new ways to use games to innovate products and services that enhance life and improve the human experience. At the event, Dr Yuan gave a brief introduction to the RAGE project and shared some initial findings and outputs with the participants. The RAGE project will continue to work with REACTOR to engage with researchers and applied games companies in Cambridge and will run a RAGE/REACTOR consultation meeting to discuss potential business models for the Rage ecosystem.
